Hart Middle School’s counseling office aims to help every child meet their full potential in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development. Guidance Counseling at HMS is designed to meet the needs of all students, grades 5-8. Our program is developmental in design & helps support the development of all students through the delivery of guidance curriculum, individual planning, and responsive services. School guidance and counseling programs are integral in the education process as they assist all students in developing knowledge and skills to handle the challenges that this rapidly changing world will have them face.
Our counseling office believes that effective school counseling programs are important to the school climate. Guidance programs are designed to provide students with the skills to be successful in career planning, personal growth, interpersonal relationships, and academic achievement. Classroom and small group guidance are strategies often employed to support development and socialization skills. We work collaboratively with teachers and parents to help students reach their full potential.
Guidance Curriculum lessons focus on Knowledge of Self & Others, Career Exploration, EDP Development, Anti-Bullying, Character Building, Personality Assessments, Learning Styles Assessments, Organization & Time Management.
